As we approach the new school year, our district has partnered with the La Paz County collaborative effort, which includes schools, non-profit organizations, and the Probation Department, in coordination with the Administrative Office of the Court (AOC) Probation Youth Violence Project. Together, we aim to revitalize our school garden for our students and our new Garden Club.
This project will teach students about sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental stewardship while encouraging positive engagement.
To make this project successful, we are seeking volunteers to assist with the garden makeover, as well as donations of gardening supplies, including:
- Wood:
- 30 pieces of 2 in x 6 in x 16 ft
- 12 pieces of 2 in x 6 in x 8 ft
- 40 pieces of 4 in x 4 in x 4 ft (small posts)
- Non-Toxic Paint, stain, or sealant
- Water lines/drippers
- Potting soil
- Gravel
- Seeds (corn, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, etc.)
- Garden tools
Your generous contributions will provide students with hands-on learning experiences and foster a sense of responsibility and community. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
Please note that donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are happy to provide documentation for your records upon request. Additionally, we would love to recognize your support in media announcements and on signage at the project site. If you are able to assist, please contact Christina Hernandez at 928-669-6188 ext. 239 or Sadie Grimes at 928-923-7900.
